Supports Walczak And Lundquist
To The Editor:
I write in support of the Bruce Walczak/Paul Lundquist team for 1st Selectman and Selectman.
My wife, Stephanie and I have known Bruce and his wife, Holly for nearly the entire 34 years we have lived on Main Street. Bruce’s career was in business and was responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars of managing corporate expense. He served on the First Selectman’s Business Advisory Group, the Police Commission, and the Economic Development Commission. Some twenty plus years ago when school budget votes were failing, he co-founded the Independent Party of Newtown that focused on budget transparency and sufficient school funding. It was outside the box thinking and caused the local Democratic Town Committee to work harder. It worked. Bruce also serves as an Alternate on the Borough of Newtown Historic District Commission.
When I suggest local and financial areas are about Schools, Streets, Security and Smart Development Bruce has all the bases covered with his broad Town and Business experience.
I have known Paul for some sixteen years. I first met Paul when he volunteered his own business to do a Town/Education survey for free. It was extremely helpful. Paul served on the Legislative Council for ten years, including four years as Chair. Paul stepped away from the Legislative Council for family time. Paul’s children are now grown. Paul also served on the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee, and Municipal Facilities Study Committee. Paul’s leadership skill-set is to listen to all, ask the hard questions and work to reach consensus. He was an extremely effective Chair of the Legislative Council.
Your Voice. Your Vote. Your Newtown.
Please Vote November 4!
These are my views and not necessarily those of any Board upon which I sit.
