Program On Genetic Counseling

NEW MILFORD –– On Tuesday, October 23, at 6:45 pm at the New Milford VNA Genetic Counselor Jennifer Scalia and oncologist Linda DeMarco, MD, will present a Community Health Forum entitled “Genetic Counseling: Are You at Risk?”

Many people feel concerned about the history of cancer within their families and can benefit from assessing their risk levels. Ms Scalia and Dr DeMarco will outline the process used in genetic counseling and the preventive actions that can be taken to promote health. These actions may include increased exams, lifestyle changes, medication and screenings.
