What was your favorite thing about Newtown High School when you were there?
(Newtown High School students who graduated during the 1930s came together this week for a class reunion at the Stony Hill Inn in Bethel)
Lillian (Canfield) Ermisch: âMy favorite thing was you knew everybody in the whole school.â âClass of 1935
Henri Arnold: âWe had fun on the baseball team. We were probably the worst in the league.â âClass of 1935
Emma (Brown) Pavao: âThe Friday assemblies. Some of the kids performed. We had May Day at the town hall.â âClass of 1935
Eric Person: âI think I probably enjoyed the agriculture classes best of all. I wasnât the best in school, but I could chop corn.â âClass of 1935
Grace (Murphy) Rooke: âI think I liked our teachers. I think we felt really well educated with the size of our school. We got a good education at Newtown High School.â âClass of 1935
