Accustomed to playing games with rival school teams, Newtown High School boys soccer players swapped their cleats and shin pads for game boards and playing pieces when they volunteered at Charter Senior Living of Brookfield on a late-September evening.

In between a packed season schedule including three games a week and daily practice after school, seniors James D’Amico, Landon Dorsey, Noah Kooper, Stephen Singlak, and Jeffrey Prout made time for a special game night with residents at Charter.

Residents and players alike enjoyed their time together playing Jenga, Chess, Rummikub, and cards. The players agreed in unison that they would like to visit again and the residents sincerely waved goodbye and wished them a great season, hoping they will come back to visit.
