To the Editor:

I am delighted that Sharon Dornfeld is a candidate for probate judge for the district serving Newtown, Ridgefield, Bethel, and Redding.

I can think of no other person better qualified than Sharon to serve as the next probate judge for this district. Sharon has been a trusted colleague for many years. I have personally observed her keen intellect in legal matters and her high degree of moral integrity and compassion. Sharon has handled many complex trust and estate issues in her lengthy legal career in a thoughtful and ethical manner. Sharon embodies all of the attributes of an effective judge - good listener, effective communicator, pragmatic, analytical, thoughtful, and deliberate. There is no question in my mind that Sharon would serve this office with distinction and integrity.

Additionally, Sharon has a rich, diverse, and experienced background. She has been elected president of the Greater Danbury Bar Association by her peers; she is recognized statewide for her legal expertise; she has received many pro bono awards; she is an active community volunteer; and she has devoted her career to caring for people unable to protect themselves. She has the exact temperament and demeanor that you would expect and hope to find in an effective probate judge.

Further, Sharon is fair-minded, even-handed, mature, and responsible. I believe that she will carry on the tradition of the excellent probate judges who have preceded her. It is without hesitation that I endorse Sharon Dornfeld for the office of probate judge. Whatever your party affiliation, Sharon Dornfeld is the right person for this very important position. Please support her on November 8.
