Halloween Weekend At Connecticut Audubon
Fairfield â Owls, bats, spiders, and snakes galore! The Connecticut Audubon Society (CAS) Center of Fairfield, at 2325 Burr Street, promises plenty of creepy crawly fun for children and their parents at its annual Halloween events.
On Friday, October 26, the center will host its âEnchanted Forest,â featuring a candlelit trail with stops for fun and education skits, Native American storytelling, visits with nocturnal animals and more. A fascinating, indoor creepy crawly exhibit features live insects, reptiles, and other Halloween creatures.
The event is suitable for children aged three and up accompanied by an adult. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Walks begin at half-hour intervals from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. On Saturday, October 27, from 10 am to 4 pm, the CAS Center will host a daytime exhibit of live insects, reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from around the world. Come find out whatâs creeping and crawling for Halloween. Children will have the opportunity to observe creatures safely, learn more about them, and participate in related craft activities.
No reservations are needed and the event is co-sponsored by Southern New England Herpetological Associates (SNEHA). Admission for Saturday is $5 for children, $7 for adults. All proceeds will support the education programs of the societyâs center at Fairfield and SNEHA.
