Hospital Hosts CPR Day
WATERBURY â Emergency Services at Waterbury Hospital, in conjunction with the American Heart Association, is hosting a half-day CPR event to provide life-saving training to area residents. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Twin Towers Fund.
âThis program will serve two important purposes; to support those families whose lives have been devastated by the World Trade Center disaster and to prepare the public to respond in a cardiac emergency,â said Ralph Miro, coordinator of emergency medical services at Waterbury Hospital. âBy preparing our community, we strengthen our ability to respond in life-threatening situations. Training as many people as possible in basic CPR is one way we can do this.â
CPR Friends and Families Day will take place in the Bizzozero Conference Room on the fourth floor of Waterbury Hospital on Saturday, October 27, from 9:30 am to 1 pm. The cost of the program is $25 per family. There is a maximum of three individuals per family. Participants will receive a card indicating course completion. Preregistration is required, call 203-573-6295 or 203-573-7390.
