I am writing in strong support of my friend and neighbor, Dr Neil Chaudhary, for a position on the Newtown Police Commission. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Neil for over 13 years, and in that time, I’ve seen firsthand the dedication, humility, and professionalism he brings to everything he does.

Dr Chaudhary is not just a respected member of our community — he’s a nationally recognized traffic safety scientist with more than two decades of experience working alongside law enforcement to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities. He holds a PhD in behavioral research and has collaborated with police agencies across the country on initiatives that have saved countless lives.

Neil brings a unique blend of scientific expertise, real-world understanding, and deep respect for law enforcement that would be an enormous asset to our Police Commission. His data-driven approach and commitment to public safety will help ensure that decisions are both evidence-based and community-focused.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Neil is a person of integrity and empathy — someone who listens, seeks to understand, and genuinely cares about making Newtown safer and stronger. I can’t think of a better person to serve in this important role.
