It is our pleasure to offer our full endorsement of Paul Lundquist for Board of Selectmen. There couldn’t be a candidate more rooted in Newtown and fully focused on the whole of Newtown. We have known Paul for over 15 years and can say with complete confidence that he is a person of objectivity, integrity, and sound judgment.

Paul has well over a decade of public service, having served on the Newtown Legislative Council for five terms (including four years as Chairman), as well as the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee and the Board of Education and Municipal Facilities Strategic Planning Committee. As long as we’ve known Paul, he has been a fierce advocate for community building through his volunteerism and leadership, examples being the head of volunteer engagement for the inaugural Fairfield Hills Music Festival, as part of the leadership team for Newtown’s annual Earth Day Festival, and as a musician with the Flagpole Radio Cafe. Paul has the much needed ability to listen carefully, weigh differing perspectives, and make measured decisions.

We are confident that Paul Lundquist will serve our community with the same dedication and steadiness he has shown through his career and personal life. We wholeheartedly support his candidacy and encourage others to do the same — reach out if you don’t know him and see for yourself.
