My Husband, Paul Lundquist
To The Editor:
I am proud to write this letter of endorsement for my husband, Paul Lundquist, who is running for the Board of Selectmen. When elected, Paul will be continuing his significant history of service to Newtown. Paul served ten years on the Legislative Council, four of those in the position of Chair of the Council. Paul’s involvement in our town extends beyond government. He is a founding member of the team that created the Fairfield Hills Music Festival and is an active member of the group that organizes Newtown’s Earth Day Festival.
Paul’s focus is local, inclusive and positive. He values the rural and neighborly character of our town. He strives to keep issues Newtown-focused, not driven by political affiliation. Paul always considers the input of others whether they share his point of view or not. His track record shows his dedication to issues like education, public safety and town infrastructure.
As Paul’s wife of twenty-seven years, I can describe the personal qualities of his character that make him an excellent choice for Selectman. First and foremost, Paul is a good person. Ask anyone who knows him. He is the kind of man you want not only as a leader, but as a friend. He is caring, trustworthy, loyal, and hardworking, not to mention creative and witty. As a husband and father he is devoted and steadfast, inspiring our family to get involved in town events and important causes. I can attest to the fact that he is passionate about Newtown, our home for almost three decades.
Paul Lundquist has proven his dedication to our town through his many years of service to us. Please join me in supporting him in his candidacy for Board of Selectmen.
