To The Editor:

Like many of my neighbors, I have been concerned about the impact of rising taxes in Newtown over the last few years. That’s why I believe it is so important to have people on the Board of Finance who put the taxpayers first. One of those people is Steve Goodridge, and I strongly encourage you to support him for another term.

Steve is thoughtful and deliberate in every decision he makes. He understands that every dollar the town spends comes from hardworking families, including many who have voiced concerns that they can no longer afford the rising cost of living in town. He listens, asks the right questions, and carefully considers the long-term impact of spending before supporting it. Steve believes in balancing the needs of the town with what taxpayers can reasonably afford, and he has shown he is not afraid to make the tough calls necessary to keep spending under control.

In addition to his work on the Board of Finance, Steve has been asked to serve on numerous subcommittees, including education and contract negotiations. His willingness to take on these responsibilities shows the respect he has earned and his dedication to serving the entire community.

If you are concerned about rising taxes and want someone who will always keep the taxpayer in mind, please join me in voting for Steve Goodridge for the Board of Finance.
