To the Editor:

With the upcoming election on November 6, 2001, I urge the people of Newtown to vote for a man who is going to take the job of first selectman very seriously. That man is Mr Owen Carney. I have had the pleasure of living next door to Mr Carney and his family for the past three years. During this time I have had the opportunity of getting to know a very caring and dedicated individual.

Mr Carney served on the Newtown Department of Police Services for 27 years and retired with the rank of Captain in 1999. Mr Carney is also a very active member of our community.

You can find Mr Carney campaigning on Saturdays at the Newtown dump and also knocking on doors during the week.

This November I urge citizens of Newtown to vote for the Republican Team and know that your voices will be heard. Vote for Owen Carney November 6, 2001.
