Mr and Mrs Philip C. Roy

Kimberly Martha Haggerty and Philip Charles Roy were joined in marriage on August 4 at St Joan of Arc Church in Hamden, with Father Robert Heffernan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William and Linda Haggerty of Newtown. The groom is the son of William Roy of New Milford and Rosemarie Roy of Middletown.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless A-line white dress and carried a bouquet made by her of white roses, stephanotis, and baby’s breath.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Kristin Haggerty, of Newtown. Stacy Sousa of Westport, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. They wore periwinkle dresses and carried bouquets made by the bride of pink, purple, white, and yellow flowers.

The best men were William Wood of Marlboro, Mass., and Larry Hipp of Ambler, Penn.

The bridesmaids were Carla Ribeiro of Waterbury, Connie Curtis of Preston, and Emily Roy of New Milford.

The ushers were Keith Anderson of Houston, Tex., Christian Wright of Easton, Penn., and Vincent Lipan of Tempe, Ariz.

The bride graduated in 1993 from Newtown High School, University of Granada, Spain, and earned a bachelor’s of science and master’s of arts in education and Spanish from the University of Connecticut in 1997 and 1998. She is currently attending the University of New Haven for a degree in graphic design and will graduate in May 2002.

The groom graduated from New Milford High School in 1992 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1997 with a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering. He is currently attending Southern Connecticut State University for a master’s of business administration. He is employed as a mechanical design engineer for US Surgical Corp in North Haven.

The reception was held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Meriden.

Following a wedding trip to Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, Mr and Mrs Roy are residing in Hamden.
