New Computer Classes

At Booth Library

Dan Tannenbaum, from Newtown Computer Training Center, is offering computer classes twice a month at C.H. Booth Library in Newtown.

The beginners class, which will next meet on Saturday, November 3, is designed for the true beginner and will cover important basics focusing on keyboard keys, shortcuts, and function keys, and mouse skills (including how to use the mouse buttons, double click, and drag and drop). Mr Tannenbaum will also help participants get started on the Internet/Web.

Time will be set aside to discuss how to search for information using biblio sources and search engines. This is a great introduction, designed to promote confidence, with lots of assistance from a patient and knowledgeable teacher.

An intermediate class will also be offered. It will meet next on Saturday, November 17, and will cover more advanced Web issues including downloading files, saving pictures, as well as topics related to email such as sending and receiving attachments. There will also be time set aside for specific questions and problems students may be facing.

The beginner’s class is free; the intermediate class has a $10 fee payable at the time of registration. Registration is required for either class. Call 426-4533 or visit the library, which is at 25 Main Street in Newtown.
