DANBURY — Theater-goers who attend Western Connecticut State University’s production of “The Full Monty” this November certainly will experience exactly what this play named after a British slang expression means: “the whole thing.” Locally, the whole thing is an ambitious and lively production featuring WestConn’s talented theater arts students who can sing, act and dance with the best of them.

The WestConn Theater Arts Department will stage The Full Monty for three weekends in November. With the exception of a 7:30 pm curtain on opening night, Thursday, November 2, performances will be at 8 pm on November 3-4, 9-11 and 16-18. Performances are in the Berkshire Theater in Berkshire Hall on WestConn’s midtown campus, on Osborne Street.

Tickets will are $20 for adults, and $15 for senior citizens and non-WestConn students. Call the Berkshire Theater box office at 837-8732 for ticket and other information, or go to wcsu.edu/tickets.

Patrons who want to enjoy dinner before their theater experience on Thursday, November 2, can buy a combination dinner-theater ticket for $40. Dinner will begin at 5:30 pm in nearby Warner Hall. A limited number of tickets are available for the dinner theater; to make a reservation, call the Office of Institutional Advancement at (203) 837-8298.

Set in present-day Buffalo, N.Y., this production of The Full Monty remains faithful to the Broadway production, featuring a half dozen laid-off steelworkers in search of another way to earn a living. What they come up with is something to be seen.
