Girls U14
Roadrunners 4, New Fairfield 0 â Kaitlin Brophy scored two goals as the Roadrunners blanked New Fairfield. Anna Bernath scored her first Roadrunners goal and Shannon Paproski deflected a great corner kick by Jill Jagoe for the final tally. Sarah Murtha and Emma Kingsley had strong all-around games.
Boys U13
Bethel Tournament
Newtown 2, Redding 0 â Sean Burson scored a goal and assisted on another as Newtown defeated Redding in the Bethel Tournament (where the locals finished second with three wins in four games). Chris McGowan also scored while John Imbimbo provided an assist.
Newtown 1, Norwalk 0 â Justin Brophy scored with assist from Cameron Clark to lead Newtown past Norwalk. Trevor Carey at centerback and Austin Puleri in goal provided strong defensive performances.
Wilton 5, Newtown 0 â The eventual first-place team proved too strong for Newtown.
Newtown 2, Bethel 1 â Cameron Clark netted in both goals with assists from Justin Brophy and Sean Burson as Newtown rebounded off its only loss with a strong performance.
Girls U13
Power 5, Sherman 0 â Nora Murphy had two goals and Stefanie Clavette, Hannah Maret and Nicole Davis each chipped one to lead the Power to the win. Meaghan Carney had two assists and Davis added an assist of her own. Lexi Black and Celeste Cheung played strong midfield while Clavette and Kendall Svanda shared the shutout in goal.
Power 2, Brookfield 0 â Jessica Jowdy scored a pair of goals to lead the Power to the win. Katherine Scottâs and Alex Kleinâs defense helped Stefanie Clavette and Kendall Svanda capture their fourth shutout of the season.
Girls U12
Orange 2, Flash 1 (CT Cup) â Stephanie Roman scored the lone Flash goal with an assist from Lindsay Jossick. Kelly Brooks, Kristiana Engler and Christina Gould played solid in the midfield while Caitlin Yakush was strong in goal.
Boys U11
Beasts 8, Watertown 2 â Connor Gallagher scored four goals and Sam Pliszka added two as the Beasts rolled to the win. Brandon Marks and Stefan Dullinger scored one goal apiece while Robert Linden, Charlie Helgren, Marks and Phil Healy all had assists. Andrew Martinez, Sam Boland, Matt Rosa and Jordan Sock had an excellent game constantly pressuring on offense.
Boys U10
Southbury 2, White Lightning 1 â Brenton Scott scored the lone goal in a loss to Southbury. Sawyer Conrad, Kaj Djonne, Kevin Droniak, Constant Gregoire, and Nathyn Horvath paced the offensive effort while the midfield was controlled by Colin Reilly and Clay Gattey. Kevin Ovendorf and Graham Hubbert had a strong game in net.
Girls U10
Danbury 1, Lightning 0 â Despite many shots on goal, the Newtown girls were unable to score against a tough Danbury team. Jessica Keller and Emily Riley played great in midfield while Kailee Dunnigan and Taylor Lafave were strong in the net.

Hurricanes 1, Danbury Bobcats 0 â Kristen DeGirolamo scored the lone goal off an assist from Samantha Whitley to lead the Hurricanes.Goalies Elena Unschuld and Abby Hungaski, forward Michelle Spanedda and midfielders Jessica Haitz an Grace McKinley all had great games.
The Rage 3, Turf Dâs 1 â Ashley Cirone scored two goals while Andrea Sayegh added an insurance goal to lift the Rage to the win. Chelsea Sayegh and Claire Bernson were strong in goal while Katie Burns and Abby Blakeman had great games. For the Ds, Emma Iannini scored the lone goal ⦠although a shot by Emily Albrecht danced on the goal line! Claire Donnelly and Sydney Hansen played great midfield while Courtney Beckett and Alyse Brautigam were excellent in goal.
Boys U14
Danbury Blitz 5, Wolves 4 â The Wolves fought back from a 5-0 halftime score but fell short 5-4 in a loss to the Danbury Blitz. Tyler Coleman, Robby Russo, Ivan Hutchinson, and Dan Brown all scored in the second half effort with Evan Swain providing two assists.
TNT 2, Dynamite 0 â Mike Terlaga scored off an assist from Miles Dobbrow and Robbie Beier scored off an assist from Devin DiNicola to lead the TNT to the win. Dan Olszewski and Austin Quinn anchored the D. For the Dynamite, midfielders Tim Bock and Andy Hsu had strong performances. Wesley Morlock and Liam Reynolds anchored the defense while Mac Morlock played great in goal.
Liverpool 4, Meteors 1 â Colin Cooper scored three goals to lead Liverpool to the win. Gavin Scallon also scored and was solid on D. Brian Johnson assisted on the go-ahead goal as Justin Weiner was very active at midfield. For the Meteors, Jack McManus scored the lone goal while Austin Isola, Jeff Hoffman and Rob Nordman played well.
Girls U10
Rockets 2, Gladiators 1 â Morgan Macchiarolo scored both goals to lead the Rockets to the win. Lindsay Fiori was great in the net as Kelly Coughlin was heads-up on defense. Hannah Booth was a force on offense.
Comets 3, Mad Monkeys 1 â Trisha Sullivan scored two goals and Hayley Dunn added one to lead the Comets to the win. Kristie VosWinkel contributed with a fine performance at midfield and Hannah Delia was key on D. For the Mad Monkeys, Caitlin Filiato scored the only goal as Sara Lampel and Taryn McCleary played a strong game on offense. Kirsten Yapp was a force at fullback and Emily Clark played a solid game in goal.
Strikers 4, Nighthawks 1 â Katie Bedell tallied twice while Kelsey Muniz and Tanner Tardie each scored one to cement the victory for the Strikers. Emily Sippin, Emma Burns, Ryan Cassin and Emily Davis had great games on offense and defense. For the âHawks, Portia Baudisch scored while Rachel Crosby and Julia Schoeni were also strong on offense. Marissa Liberante and Gabriella Perpignand played well on defense.
Tie Dye Tigers 3, Twisters 0 â Aoife Flanagan scored a goal as did sisters Emily and Meghan Grimes to lead the Tigers to the victory. Alexi Rodriguez, Hannah Grant and Jaime Duncan were outstanding. For the Twisters, Emily Turco stopped several shots on goal. Madeline Fletcher and Kayleigh Shambelan were strong on offense, while Amanda Martinez played well on defense.
Boys U10
Dynamite 3, Hurricanes 0 â Connor Miller and Mitchell Stewart and Wesley Morlock completed the scoring on a long, arcing corner kick that went untouched into the goal to lead the Dynamite. Noah Burhance played solid defense and Paul OâLeary was great at the midfield position. For the Hurricanes, Otto Kerler was outstanding in goal making a number of great saves during the first half and David Kent played great defense.
Red Bulls 3, Scorpions 0 â Danny Romeo was great in goal, leading the Red Bulls to the win. Bradley Kretz, Jordan Abraham and Robbie Schreiber each scored. For the Scorpions, Tyler Dullinger had a great overall game, David Pierce controlled the midfield and Patrick Rowley and Kyle Watkins were good in goal.
Wolverines 1, The Oskars 0 â Peter Manfredonia was outstanding in goal for the Wolverines and Erik von Schleusingen, Brandon Rodrigues, Thomas Rahr and Tim Vogelman were solid on defense. Matthew Hess, Lukas Palumbo, Jeremy Doski and Spencer Tolson all had strong performances for The Oskars.
The Oskars 4, Hurricanes 0 â Timothy Kelly and Mustafa Sakhi scored to lead the Oskars to the win. Tommy Shaker had a great offensive game and Matthew Hess was solid in goal. For the Hurricanes, Stephen Brittin and David Csordas played good overall games and Sander Nydell had a strong game in goal.
Huskies 2, Camel Shards 2 â Charlie Poarch of the Huskies and Conner Roche of the Camel Shards scored two goals apiece in a 2-2 draw. For the Huskies, Joseph Perkus and Travis Hanna kept the offensive pressure going while Zachary Pollock anchored the D. For the Shards, Samuel Omalyer, goaltender Curtis Giles and defender Chris Horkachuck played well.
Boys U8
Torpedoes 2, Super Chargers 2 â Matthew Stewart scored a pair of goals and Tommy Elliott registered an assist to lead the Torpedoes to the win. Conrad Reilly and Noah LaFerriere played well. For the Chargers, Ryan Brello and Colin Patrick scored the goals while Mason Melills and Owen Sampdon anchored the D.
Silver Scorpions 1, Yankees 0 â Michael OâKeefe scored the lone goal in a tight match with the Yankees. Braden Marcinek had a solid game and Zachary Hamar played inspired defense for the victors. For the Yankees, Grant Varnum played a strong all-around game, William LeMay made a great save in goal, and Joey Conrod showed good teamwork in the game.
Patriots 2, Blasters 2 â Eddie Gardner and Connery Mayer both scored to help the Patriots with the draw. Ben Tuffy and Zachary Boland really hustled on offense and Jack Carello played a great game. For the Blasters, Kelland Chrystie and Connor Barrett both scored while Trevor Gaines played outstanding defense and Jack Riley had a strong performance.
Flying Tornadoes 3, Lightning Bolts 2 â Quinn scored a pair of goals and Ryan added one to lead the Tornadoes. Theodore and Jacob were solid on defense while Jack played well on offense. For the Bolts, Matt Bucci and Dylan Kretz scored as Tom Cotton and Ben Deickman anchored the D. Andrew Janco and Matthew Kretz played solid offense.
Girls U8
Pink Panthers 5, Mustangs 3 â Katie Reilly and Grace Sandercox scored two goals apiece to lead the Pink Panthers to the win. Danielle Scarpa also scored and Hannah Logan anchored the D. For the Mustangs, Nevan Gattey scored all three goals as Nicole Russo provided an assist. Sarah MacMullen and goaltender Chloe Rogalin played well on defense.
The Killers 2, Funky Monkeys 0 â Avery Higham and Anna Biondi each scored a goal to lift the Killers to the win. Grace Larsen played great overall and Amanda Donovan played well on offense.
Skunks 2, Happy Hippos 0 â Emily Charash scored two goals with assists from Molly Begg and Maddie Bridges to lead the Skunks to the win. Casey Harkins controlled the flow with Cassidy Keller playing aggressive defense. For the Hippos, Olivia Caplan and Callie Kraushaar played well on offense as Megan Doyle and Victoria Teixeira sparked the defense.
Rockets 5, Huskies 0 â Sarah Lyon scored three goals while Hannah Hripak and Brittney Antous scored one apiece as the Rockets grabbed the shutout. For the Huskies, great effort and energy by Sydney Flint, Elizabeth Chamiec-Case, and Sydney Johnson led the way.
