Harriet A.        Hicock

Harriet A. Hicock, 70, of 337 Old Waterbury Road, Southbury, died October 18 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the wife of the late Earl C. Hicock.

She was the sister of Robert Veach of Newtown.

Mrs Hicock was born October 29, 1930, in Norwalk, daughter of the late George and Harriet (Ready) Veach. She had worked as a nurse’s aid at the Lutheran Home in Southbury and was a resident of Southbury for more than 50 years.

She leaves one son, Elliott Hicock of Southbury; four daughters, Edna Harrell of Zephyrhills, Fla., Rose Mary Hicock and Ruth Hofmann, both of Southbury, and Laura Rodkey of Roanoke, Va.; another brother, Ralph Veach of Danbury; four sisters, Isabel Conklin of Danbury, Mary Tompkins of New York, and Suzanne Sayres and Helen Mills, both of Bethel; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Melissa Cook, is deceased.

A funeral service was held October 22 at Grace Christian Church, 174 Mt Pleasant Road, Newtown. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.

Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, was in charge of arrangements.
