Margaret A. Feli

Margaret A. (Piskura) Feli died October 21 at her home on Georges Hill Road in Newtown. She was the wife of the late Peter Feli, Sr. Mrs Feli had her 90th birthday on May 28 of this year with a celebration at her home with family and friends.

She was born in Brookfield in 1911, daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Kesko) Piskura and attended Brookfield schools. She worked at the Upton Tea Company in Hawleyville until her marriage in 1935. After becoming a wife and mother she devoted herself to her home and family and helping her husband operate their family farm on Georges Hill Road. In later years Mrs Feli worked as a housekeeper for many Newtown families.

She was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary in Hawleyville and a member of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown.

Mrs Feli is survived by her sons, George J. and Francis S. Feli and her daughter, Theresa M Fuller, all of Newtown; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Piskura of New York; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Peter, Jr, in 1999.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on October 24 at St Rose Church, Newtown. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Saint Cyril Methodius, 582 Railroad Street, (Villa Sacred Heart), Danville, PA 17821-1698.
