14th Annual Northeast Music, Arts and Dance (NOMAD) Festival continues, 10 am-11 pm, Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road, admission varies from $8-$35 (depending on hours of attendance), discounts for students, children & seniors, festival of traditional music and dance of North America includes concerts, workshops, performances, jams, chorus singing, etc, also children’s & family activities, refreshments, crafts area/folk bazaar, festival continues October 28; 203-372-3890.

“An Evening of Great Music: The Dartmouth Cords and The Berkshire Big Band,” 7:30 pm, Newtown High School auditorium, 12 Berkshire Road, tickets $10, performances by one of country’s best a cappella performing groups and 17-piece Big Band directed by Chip Zellner, proceeds will help fund new NHS auditorium sound system; 426-5900 (Dr Gellert’s office) or 426-9692 (Dr Braun’s office).

“Home Party,” 9 am-3 pm, St Rose Parish Hall, Church Hill Road, sponsored by St Rose Women’s Club, free event that features more than a dozen vendors who sell through home parties, raffle, bake sale, refreshments, proceeds to reduce church debt; 270-1838.

Opening reception for “Shards Of Time,” 2-4 pm, C.H.
