To The Editor:

I am writing to offer my strong endorsement of Paul Lundquist for Newtown’s Board of Selectmen.

We live in an increasingly polarized and divided time in our country. On the national level, political discussions can often feel overwhelming, discouraging, and disconnected from daily life. However, at the local level, I believe our choices are more direct and meaningful — especially when it comes to individuals like Paul Lundquist.

I have known Paul and his family for over twenty years. Throughout that time, I have witnessed his consistent integrity, deep compassion, and remarkable ability to balance empathy with sound, data-informed decision-making. Paul is inclusive, thoughtful, and measured — qualities that are essential for leadership in our community today.

My support for Paul has nothing to do with political affiliation or ideology. It has everything to do with character. I trust Paul to do what is right — to make decisions guided by fairness, integrity, and genuine care for others. For most of us, it’s not possible to stay on top of every local issue or vote, so we rely on electing people we trust to represent us honestly and wisely. For me, Paul Lundquist unequivocally embodies that trust.

For those who may not know him personally, Paul is an independent thinker with a strong sense of family, a grounded moral compass, and the intelligence and analytical skill to approach problems with clarity and creativity. He has already proven himself as a thoughtful and effective community leader. Re-electing Paul ensures that Newtown continues to benefit from a voice of reason, compassion, and collaboration.

Paul Lundquist’s leadership and deep commitment to this community make him an invaluable asset to Newtown’s Board of Selectmen. I wholeheartedly support and endorse him for this role.
