Gone Fish'in
Gone Fishâin
To the Editor:
At this time of the year, when itâs near time for the Gone Fishâin sign to be put in the window of the Ice Cream Shop, Wendy and Charlie and our daughters Leighan and Susan, who attended Newtownâs great public schools, want to take a moment after the sale of our ice cream shop to thank the folks of Newtown for their loyalty and support the past 32 years. You all have made it such a pleasure to serve. It was with a great deal of emotion the day we put our heads together and decided we had to make the break, we couldnât do it forever.
The photos on the wall show you just a few of the memories we leave behind, and weâre sure that you all will look at them and remember; sorry we didnât get every single person. The customers and friends that come in and the people from years and years ago who stop by when in town will be dearly missed.
And how could we have ever done it without our Alumni, our staff, Mrs. Anna Pendergast and Mrs. April Arnold, what a couple of gals, and the teenage boys and girls too too too numerous to mention but because Newtown was such a wonderful town it wasnât hard to get good kids, we loved them all. Please keep us informed of your future.
So Wendy and Charlie thank you again, God Bless You and God Bless America.
