To the Editor:

With the November 6 municipal election approaching, the voters of Newtown have a choice in electing a first selectman. I would urge the voters of Newtown to support the candidacy of Owen Carney on the Republican ticket.

As a member of the Board of Police Commissioners for six years during Owen’s service to the community, I had an opportunity to observe his performance. His reports to the board were thorough, well thought out, and impartial. He exhibited good managerial skills. His 30 years of extensive experience in dealing with the people of Newtown makes him well qualified to be first selectman.
