To the Editor:
Iâm writing to endorse two candidates who are running for Legislative Council in the second district. Dick Dunseith and Bob Hennessey are two candidates running for the Nice party. Forty percent of Newtownâs registered voters are unaffiliated and do not have strong allegiance to either the Democratic or Republican parties. Dunseith and Hennessey represent a new voice because they are not bound by partisan politics. In my opinion, they represent a breath of fresh air that is needed in the Legislative Council.
Newtown is on the cusp of many new changes. We are on the brink of planning and developing Fairfield Hills, completing the 5/6 school, and, quite possibly, implementing changes to our local government. Both Dick Dunseith and Bob Hennessey have qualities that will make them productive members of the Legislative Council. They are motivated, enthusiastic, experienced in business and finance, and knowledgeable about the issues facing the council. They attend Legislative Council meetings regularly, express their ideas in letters to the editor, and speak out at Legislative Council meetings as members of the public. They are already actively involved in the process.
Iâm firmly resolved that both are excellent candidates for the Legislative Council. Therefore, I endorse their candidacy and encourage voters to place these two new voices on the council.
