All residents of this community will benefit from Paul Lundquist’s election to the Board of Selectmen in November.

One of Paul’s greatest strengths is his exceptional ability to be a reasonable and rational thinker. He is adept at synthesizing facts and identifying commonalities of opinion across diverse perspectives. A research professional by day, Paul always endeavors to base decisions on facts and data. We believe Paul will use these skills to add value to our local government process.

Paul expressed a top priority of safeguarding affordability for all, during these challenging economic conditions, while providing our kids with an excellent education, supporting public safety, pursuing smart economic development, and caring for our roads and facilities — all while preserving the rural character of Newtown. He is the father of two sons, both graduates of Newtown Public Schools, one, a college grad, the other a current freshman. We believe Paul is passionate about all that Newtown has to offer and is committed to improving quality of life for all.

Paul’s many accomplishments in town include: serving 10 years (2011-2021) on the Legislative Council, including 4 (2017-2021) as Council Chairman; serving on the Municipal Building Strategic Plan Comm, representing the Legislative Council; participating in the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Amend. Work Group and Master Plan Review Comm; and acting as Co-Chairman of the Bd of Ed and Municipal Facilities Mgt subcommittee.

In 2007/8, and as a volunteer, Paul implemented the Survey of Newtown Residents, “The Way Things Are in Newtown.” He offered his time and his firm’s resources to survey a representative sample of Newtown households on a range of topics. Paul provided insight/guidance to municipal leadership. Other volunteering efforts include: Sandy Hook Promise, co-founder and former board member; Newtown Earth Day Committee, leadership team; Flagpole Radio Café, stage band; and Fairfield Hills Music Festival, head of volunteer engagement (2025).

Newtown’s future will surely be in good hands with Paul Lundquist’s input. Please vote for him!
