I am writing in support of Jim Gaston for election to the Board of Finance. Jim has a long history of representing our town. He served 16 years as Chair or Vice-Chair of the Board of Finance, four years on the Board of Selectmen 30 years on the Board of Burgesses or Warden of the Borough, and two years on the Charter Review Commission … Education HS Fairfield Prep ‘76; Lehigh University ‘80 (Double Major Finance & Economics — Emphasis Public Finance — minor Government); Duquesne University School of Law ‘83.

Jim and his wife have long dedicated their time and energy to Newtown. Stephanie served on Newtown Scholarship board for 20 years and Jim served his full two four-year terms limits on the Newtown Family Counseling Center. I have known Jim Gaston for more than 20 years. The Gaston’s strongly support education and mental health. Newtown is lucky to have them. Jim took a break from Town elected office for four years to pursue other matters. Once again, he has volunteered to serve our town. Please vote to return Jim Gaston back to the Board of Finance. Experience matters!
