Gerda E. Kopp, 75, wife of Walter Kopp of Hunting Ridge Road, Brookfield, formerly of Newtown, died October 24 at Danbury Hospital.
She was born in St Idgen, Germany, on August 23, 1926, daughter of the late Emil and Rosa (Hotz) Bletsch. Mrs Kopp came to the United States in 1951, first employed as a nanny in the New York City area. She was employed for 18 years as an assembler at Amphenol Company in Danbury. For more than 13 years she was employed as a domestic at the home of the late Mr and Mrs Bertram Stroock in Newtown.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael Kopp of Brookfield; one sister, Alice Weidele of Germany; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Kopp; and a granddaughter, Michaela Kopp, both of Brookfield.
Private funeral services will be held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Friday, October 26, at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
