Marianna R. Plaskawicki (Plaski)

Marianna R. (Szczesny) Plaskawicki (Plaski), 69, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Frank C. Plaskawicki, died October 23 at St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bernier and her husband James of Newtown.

Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Heronim and Katarzyna (Cierlica) Szczesny. A resident of Bridgeport for more than 25 years, she had moved to Stratford two years ago. “Mom,” as she was known, worked at “Sprouts” Natural Food Market of Fairfield for more than ten years before retiring. She was the former co-proprietor of Plaski Package Store for more than 25 years where she worked with her husband. She was a member of the White Eagles Society Group 315, and the prayer group at St Michael Church.

Survivors include her other beloved children, Ania Catalano and her husband Joseph of Milford and Kazimierz Plaskawicki of Stratford; three grandchildren, Rebecca-Ann, Michael Francis, and Alicia Marianna Carrafiello; three sisters, Zofia Frymus and her husband Walter of Trumbull, Michalina Szafranska and Barbara Kurczynska, both of Poland; a brother, Czeslaw Szczcesny, also of Poland; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday, October 26, at 8:45 am from the funeral home and in St Michael the Archangel Church at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St Michael Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled Thursday from 5 to 8 pm in the Frank M. Radozycki & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Pulaski Street, Bridgeport (directly across from St Michael Church).
