Housatonic Valley Waldorf School (HVWS) invites the community to celebrate the season at its Harvest Festival on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, at its Newtown campus, 1 Jacklin Road.

The newly reimagined event combines the school’s beloved Fall Fair and Winter Market, reviving a tradition that began in 2010.

The festival begins Friday, November 7, with an Adults-Only Vendor Market from 5-9 pm, featuring local artisans, food, beverages, and live music. Admission is $5 per person.

The celebration continues Saturday, November 8, from 11 am-4 pm, with live performances, puppet shows, circus demonstrations, and children’s crafts.

Entry is free, with $1 craft activity tickets available. Local food trucks and a school bake sale will also be on site.

HVWS Executive Director Leslie Lew said festival life and community building “are a big part of Waldorf education.

“The Harvest Festival is a wonderful way to bring people together and share what we do here,” Lew added.

Founded in 1989, HVWS is Connecticut’s only accredited Waldorf grade school, offering screen-free classrooms for pre-K through 8th grade and serving families across five counties in Connecticut and New York.
