What personal qualities do you have that you believe will benefit the Legislative Council? â I will listen to my constituents and carefully evaluate and consider their opinions and concerns, before I make any decisions that will ultimately affect our townâs future. I possess a strong education and working background in the field of education, as well as in the areas of design, planning and construction management.
What will be the councilâs biggest challenge in the next two years? â All of my experience will help guide me in my decisions regarding what I feel are the two most critical areas facing our town: continuing to not only provide, but to improve the quality of education and town services, and providing a sound, economical and efficient master plan for the development of Fairfield Hills. _Do you favor economic development at Fairfield Hills, or should the campus be used solely for municipal purposes? â As far as the development of Fairfield Hills, I feel that controlled and well thought out economic development must be considered while developing a plan. Also included in that plan must be the protection of open spaces, the provision to meet the municipal and educational needs of the town and perhaps some residential development.
The proposed changes to the charter may fail on November 6 because of confusion and concern over the need to implement the changes in just 30 days because of a clerical error. Would you be willing to reappoint a charter revision commission next year to bring these changes before the public again a year from now so that they may be considered solely on their merits? â Although I have mixed feelings about whether or not to vote yes for the charter revisions this November, I do support all of the proposed changes. My concern, as is the concern of others is the timeline. If the charter changes are voted down and I am elected to the Legislative Council, I will be willing to reappoint members of the most recent Charter Revision Commission, and pledge to assure that these changes are brought to the voters a year from now.
