Generous And Loving Family Man

Stephen J. Schieffer, 59, of Newtown died peacefully at his home on October 22. Mr Schieffer was born in New York City on March 29, 1947. He was the son of Eileen K. Schieffer and the late William F. Schieffer. He had resided in Newtown with his wife, Marta K. Schieffer, since 1971.

Mr Schieffer proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a most generous, loving, and kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will forever be missed by his wife; sons, Ross and Matthew; daughter-in-law, Cindy; and the apple of his eye, his grandson Will.

He is also survived by his mother, Eileen Kelly Schieffer; a sister, Mary Louise Shook and her husband, Danny; a brother Michael P. Schieffer and his wife, Liz; a brother William L. Schieffer and his wife, Gretchen; a brother Christopher E. Schieffer and his wife, Robin; as well as ten nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were scheduled at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, October 26.
