Natalie Williams of Newtown, a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School, is a sophomore member of the Roger Williams University co-ed equestrian team. At the Teikyo Post University Show on Saturday, October 20, she finished first in Open Fences as Roger Williams finished fourth out of nine teams competing.

John Taylor of Newtown is a senior member of the University of Wisconsin rowing team. The team recently opened the 2001-02 season at the Head of Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Badgers’ men’s eight team was seventh, the four was 11th and the double was 28th.
