Property Damage

About 9:45 am on October 24, police arrested Ethan Carotti, 19, of 86 Great Ring Road on a warrant, charging him with conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief.

Police report the arrest stems from an incident involving intentional damage to curbside residential mailboxes and street signs in the Old Farm Hill Road area on July 29.

Following arrest processing, Carotti was released on $100 bail for a November 5 court appearance, police said.

Mailbox Found

Police report that a black residential mailbox, which bears the number #40 on both its sides, was found on October 25 near the intersection of Castle Hill Road and Old Castle Drive. The owner should contact Sergeant Douglas Wisentaner at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841, to claim the mailbox.

Drug Arrest

Police report that at about 4:39 pm on October 25, they spotted motorist Vincent Mitchell, 20, of Brookfield who was driving a 1997 Ford Escort 45 miles per hour in a posted 35-mph zone while traveling southward on Currituck Road, near Stony Brook Road, so they stopped him to investigate.

Police charged Mitchell with traveling too fast, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police released Mitchell on $1,000 bail for a November 9 court appearance.
