To the Editor:
Newtown and Monroe voters in the 112th District have the opportunity to send an excellent candidate to the Connecticut General Assembly to represent them, Michele Mount. I urge you to do so. She will make a great partner for Chris Lyddy to the benefit of all Newtown and Monroe residents.
I have known Michele for several years in my capacity as a past president and board member of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and she has consistently advocated for the municipal agenda, particularly in the areas of education and property tax relief.
In Monroe, she has long been a strong voice for education and other childrenâs issues and this continued in her current public service as a town council member. Connecticut is one of the most property tax-dependent states in the country for funding municipal services. Michele Mount will join Chris Lyddy in advocating for proper funding of special education and education in general, in order to ease the property tax burden on Newtown and Monroe taxpayers.
On November 1, please vote for Michele Mount.
Sincerely
Herb Rosenthal
