Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP), a free networking group for business professionals and professionals looking for a job, will host its next meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 5:30-8 pm, at the Knights of Columbus building on Saint Rose Campus, 46 Church Hill Road.

From 5:30-6 pm, attendees will have an opportunity to network with others before speaker presentations start at 6 pm. This month’s speakers will be Deb Lundstrom and Lexi Lopiano. The two will host “Mock Interview Session: Sharpen Your Skills, Strengthen Your Story.”

The workshop is designed to help professionals refine their interview skills, build confidence, and get real-time feedback to support their job search journey. Whether attendees are actively interviewing or preparing to re-enter the market, this session is an opportunity to practice articulating experiences, strengths, and goals in a supportive, professional setting.

Attendees should bring a printed or digital copy of their resume, a clear idea of the job type or role they are targeting, and elevator pitch (a 30-60 second summary of who the applicant is and what they are looking for).

During the meeting, professionals will be paired with a fellow group member or facilitator for a one on one or small group mock interview. Each participant will take turns as the “candidate” and “interviewer.” Presenters will provide sample interview questions tailored to different industries and job functions. After each round, participants will receive brief constructive feedback on their responses, body language, and presentation style.

The goals of the meeting are to practice answering behavioral and situational questions with clarity and confidence, to refine how people communicate their career stories and values, to get feedback on how the resume supports the narrative, and to learn from observing others and sharing insights.

This is a judgment-free zone; the goal is progress, not perfection. NFP wants participants to come as they are, lean into the experience, and leave with actionable takeaways to help them stand out in their next real interview.

To help the speakers prepare for the session, NFP asks attendees to email a copy of their resume and the job title they are applying for to Deb Lundstrom at DLundstrom@forumgrp.com by November 4.
