Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will start the month of November with its annual “Newtown & Beyond” exhibition, presenting outstanding photography by club members at Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street.

The exhibit will run from November 3 through December 30 and will offer nearly 300 captivating images of Newtown and beyond — most available for purchase.

The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, November 9, from 2 to 4 pm, when guests can meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments.

The annual exhibit offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the talent and creativity of local photographers.

The club’s monthly competition night will be held at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street, on Thursday, November 13. Members will present images in five categories: Nature, Open Color, Open Monochrome, Assigned Subject, and Monthly Challenge.

November’s Assigned Subject is Leading Lines/S-Curves, and the Monthly Challenge theme is Glass.

Social time begins at 7 pm, followed by the competition at 7:30. Visitors are always welcome.

A local nonprofit, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club welcomes photographers of all experience levels — from beginners to professionals. Members enjoy opportunities to learn, share, and grow through competitions, workshops, field trips, community programs, and exhibitions. Meetings and competitions are free to attend, and membership is open to photographers of all skill levels.
