Family: My husband Rich; daughter Stephanie and her husband Garrick; and daughter Lexi and her fiancé Ryan.

Pets: We have a purebred collie, Maxwell, and people comment all the time, “Is Timmy still stuck in the well?” He looks just like Lassie! We also have a cat, Riley, and a rabbit, Winnie. We adopted Winnie from Newtown Animal Control and a week later she had six babies. Surprise! (Laugh) We also have a hamster, Phoenix.

How long have you lived in town? 39 years.

Work: I am the nurse and program director at Old Glory Days Adult Day Center in Sandy Hook.

Are you a member of any clubs, organizations and/or communities of faith? Kind Works and The CMAK Foundation. I’m also a member of Newtown Congregational Church, and volunteer in the nursery there.

What is the most recent book you’ve read? I’m currently reading a Wally Lamb book. I just missed seeing him at Edmond Town Hall.

Who or what has been the greatest influence in your life? My parents. It all stems from there.

Favorite actor? Christopher Reeve.

What is the most recent movie you saw in the theater? The Christopher Reeve documentary.

Favorite TV show? I love High Potential. It’s fairly new, on ABC. I’ve also always loved The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? California is my first, but for our 40th anniversary next year I’d love to go to Yellowstone. I was there when I was a kid but Rich has never been there.

What is your favorite thing about Newtown? The people, and the community feeling, and I’m so blessed with my neighbors. We have the best neighborhood. We know we can count on each other.

Do you have a personal credo? Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
