Halloween, Better Than Ever
Halloween, Better Than Ever
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Borough and Main Street area residents I would like to thank the Newtown Police Department for their stellar support on Halloween.
I think this yearâs events were even better than ever; a thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it happen. Also, a thank you to those who donated candy; it was very thoughtful. Estimates range from 3,000 to 3,200 trick-or-treaters this year.
I would like to ask a favor: if you enjoyed trick-or-treating on Main Street this year (or anywhere), would you be willing to drop off one can of nonperishable food for those less fortunate? For the next week there will be a large bin in front of 18 Main Street. Weâll try to make it so you can drop (or toss) it in the bin from the road (please drive carefully). If you miss, weâll get it, donât worry. Or you can pull in the driveway and drop it in. All donated food will go the Faith Food Pantry. Wouldnât it be great if we received 3,200 nonperishable food items!
Thanks again, and hope everyone had fun.
