Newtown Resident Receives Early Childhood Education Credential

Ann Lindenmeyer was among eight Connecticut residents who have exhibited the knowledge and competencies that qualify them for leadership roles in the field of early child education, and was a recent recipient of the Connecticut Integrated Early Childhood/Special Education teaching certificate offered by Charter Oak State College in New Britain. The group, along with Ms Lindenmeyer, participated in the newly developed certificate program designed to respond to critical needs, statewide, in the area of school readiness.

The certificate qualifies professionals to employ their specialized teaching skills in a variety of settings, including public preschool and kindergarten environments and Birth To Three intervention services.

State Senator Joan Hartley, who co-chairs the state legislature’s Committee on Higher Education and Employment Advancement, congratulated the certificate recipients noting that their accomplishments “will play a significant role in raising educational standards in the state by helping all children to succeed academically.”
