Police Arrest Man On Burglary/Larceny Charges
About 3:15 pm November 4, police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Sugar Street, so they went to the area to investigate.
Police said they found that vehicle near 214 Sugar Street at the entrance to Rock Ridge Country Club in Dodgingtown.
On investigating, police said that the vehicleâs driver, Victor Alexander Stendbergh, 20, of 7 Sugar Street was found to be in possession of a tool box containing an estimated $1,000 worth of tools. That toolbox was found covered over with Stendberghâs sweatshirt in a wooded area near the vehicle, police said.
Police said the tools and toolbox had been reported stolen about one week earlier.
A search of the vehicle turned up a used hypodermic syringe, and also uncovered two finger rings which had been stolen from Bethel, police said.
Police said they arrested Stendbergh on charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree larceny, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stendbergh was held on $1,000 bail for a November 5 court appearance, police said.
