The Spider Says Thanks
The Spider Says Thanks
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Main Street Spider we would like to thank the many individuals and businesses who made this yearsâ Main Street Halloween a huge success.
In particular we must thank Miriam Rhyins for her outstanding effort again this year in organizing and coordinating the candy drive that added immensely to the joy of the children and the great success of the Halloween-on-Main-Street event.
There were several people who dropped off goodies just to be neighborly. The children from Trinity Church, in a reverse Halloween trick, brought candy to the houses on Main Street. Also, the folks from Park and Recreation and the Girl Scouts came through with bags of sweet stuff. There were other groups in Newtown who contributed to making trick-or-treating a very happy time and we wish we could give them credit but we just donât know who they are, and we apologize.
We are not sure how many thousands of kids of all ages came but we gave out all of your wonderful contributions. Thanks again.
