On Sunday, October 26, Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary sponsored a Spooktacular learning event featuring Christine’s Critters of Weston.

The program focused on a presentation of live birds rescued by representatives from Christine’s Critters, as well as other creatures that many consider to be “scary.”

Among the many critters there were a scorpion, a Madagascar hissing cockroach, a python, and a tarantula.

The event took place in the newly constructed Catherine’s Learning Barn to a full house of guests. Children and adults said they were amazed at what they learned during the program, with special emphasis on the bioluminescence of a scorpion.

A highlight of the Spooktacular event was a scorpion that lit up via bioluminescence when placed under a light source.
