Diversity And Tolerance

To the Editor:

I am very disturbed over Mr Wolfman’s blasting comments about Grace Christian Fellowship’s participation in the Main Street Halloween celebration.

First of all, I am not a member of Grace Christian Fellowship but I do support their freedom to express their view even though it appears to be contrary to Mr Wolfman’s. Being an American is about diversity and tolerance. While I agree that the church probably used this celebration as an opportunity to share their beliefs there is nothing wrong with that — this is a free country.

Secondly, Mr Wolfman states that he is not antireligion but his comments were most certainly anti-Christian. Satanism, with its witchcraft and sorcery. is indeed a religion where Halloween is considered a high holy day. While modern-day Halloween has evolved from its original form, its roots remain steeped in the occult. Therefore, asking to keep Halloween “pure and simple” is an oxymoron. Furthermore, the negative comments made about redemption and the lake of fire found posted on Grace Christian Fellowship’s website were not penned by them but are written in the Bible — God’s inspired Word.

Mr Wolfman contradicts his cry for diversity by trying to silence a voice differing from his own opinion.

Sincerely,

Jo-Ann Brown
