Shades Of Newtown

As a gift to the children of  Newtown, Mae Schmidle has created a special tercentennial souvenir. Color Me Newtown is a compact coloring book featuring easy to color drawings of famous Newtown places and people. A brief history of the town and tidbits of historical information complement the drawings, giving children a chance to learn interactively about Newtown’s past as they color their way through the pages.

A copy of the Newtown deed and an 1854 map of Newtown are included in the coloring book, as are the Meeting House’s famous rooster, benefactress Mary Hawley and The Newtown Bee.

Color Me Newtown, a free publication, will be available starting November 11 at the C.H. Booth Library, Edmond Town Hall, the Children’s Adventure Center, 14 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook, and several other locations around town.
