Sundays With Lillinonah Audubon Society—

Duck Ramble, Potluck Lunch Planned

The Lillinonah Audubon Society (LAS) has scheduled a waterfowl search for Sunday, November 13, led by Bob Hollister. The search takes place along Bantam Lake in Litchfield and participants are requested to bring binoculars and spotting scopes if available.

Organizers would like to remind those planning to attend that it could be cold, windy, or wet –– or all of the above –– so dress accordingly. Bad weather does not cancel the event.

Anyone wishing to participate should meet at 8 am at the commuter parking lot at Exit 14 off I-84, or at the White Memorial Park and Museum parking lot in Litchfield at 8:45 am.

There is no charge, but drivers will accept donations for fuel. Call Carolyn Longstreth at 203-264-9502 to preregister.

The Annual Potluck Lunch is another upcoming LAS event that is open to the public.

Join Lillinonah chapter members at the Bent of the River Education Barn in South Britain on Sunday, November 20, at noon. Bring a dish to share and personal place setting; the members will provide hot and cold drinks. Preregister by calling Carol Dicks 264-6390. For this event, participants may drive up to the barn and park in the upper lot.

Plan to spend the afternoon at a “Meet and Greet” with local legislators who will be present during the potluck lunch to discuss environmental issues and answer questions. Last year, this discussion was lively and informative.

Contact Judith Stevens at 263-7670 with any questions.
