Tellabration! Event At Ridgefield Theater Barn Next Weekend

RIDGEFIELD — The Ridgefield Theater Barn will once again host “Tellabration! A Celebration of the Art of Storytelling,” a nationwide phenomenon that began in Connecticut in 1988, on Saturday, November 19, from 10 to 11:30 am.

“Tellabration!” which traditionally takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving, assembles an ever-growing network of storytelling enthusiasts — both listeners and tellers — to share in the joy of story. Across the country and around the world audiences who delight in storytelling and treasure it as a fundamental art will gather to listen to their own local story tellers.

The Ridgefield presentation will feature storytellers Missy Slaymaker-Hanlon, director of the Theater Barn’s Acting Workshop for Children; Martha Bishop, media specialist at Bethel Middle School and organizer of the event; Kier Hanson and Darla Shaw.

The presentation is appropriate for all ages and families are encouraged to attend.

Admission is $5 per person, with a family maximum of $20.
