 Prayer Shawl Ministry Workshop
Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street, will be holding a prayer shawl ministry workshop on Saturday, November 19, from 10 am to 1 pm. Everyone is invited to attend and no previous crocheting or knitting experience is required.
In 1998, Janet Barstow and Victoria Galo created the idea of the prayer shawl ministry. These hand-knitted or crocheted shawls, lovingly made with prayers and offered for blessing, are given to individuals who are experiencing a time of need or challenge or celebration in their lives.
All are invited to spend the morning with these founders in a program that will include time for knitting or crocheting, story-telling, guided meditation and tips and ideas on starting oneâs own prayer shawl ministry.
Those who are interested in attending should bring: lunch, yarn (555 yards for knitting, 740 for crocheting) knitting needles (sized 11 or 13) or a crocheting hook (size M, N, or P). There is a $10 fee. Registration is limited and required. Call 426-9070 to register or Trinity@TrinityNewtownCT.org.
