To The Editor:

On behalf of the Newtown Democratic Town Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Newtown for an amazing turnout at the polls on November 4. We humbly thank you for your overwhelming support. During this Municipal campaign we’ve said time and time again that your vote is your voice. Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Unaffiliated who voted for our slate — we hear you and we are ready to face the challenges ahead and lead.

I would also like to thank our current First Selectman for his service to our community and the Newtown Republican Town Committee for giving us a very well run and hard fought race. Now the voters have spoken, the dust has settled and we look forward to building bridges and working together with our Republican counterparts to make a unified and stronger Newtown.
