Music @ Trinityâs 2008-09 Concert Series Will Present Dr Neal Campbell
At 8 pm on Friday, November 21, organist Neal Campbell will perform an organ concert in the sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal sanctuary as part of Music @ Trinityâs 2008-2009 Concert Series.
Dr Campbell, a sought-after recitalist, composer, and arranger, has been director of music and the organist at St Lukeâs Parish in Darien since 2006. His concert program will feature Hymn Preludes by Frederick Swann, works of J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, and Felix Mendelssohn and will run about 45 minutes without intermission. A wine and cheese reception to follow.
A free will offering will be accepted at the door.
This concert, on Trinityâs stunning Austin pipe organ, will be the first in the Fridays @ Trinity offerings featuring a number of programs of quality classical music in Newtown on Friday evenings. Music @ Trinity seeks to offer fine music for the enjoyment of the community at large in the acoustically excellent sanctuary of the church.
Other planned events this season include a Service of Lessons and Carols for Advent at 2 pm on Sunday, December 7, upcoming Friday evening organ recitals, and the joyous return of the Yale Alley Cats in April.
