NHS Singers Preparing Annual Madrigal Feaste
NHS Singers Preparing Annual Madrigal Feaste
One of the groups in Newtown High Schoolâs choral program is currently preparing its annual Madrigal Feaste, a Medieval-style dinner with skits, jesters, toasts, and a stockade for naughty audience members.
This yearâs theme is a murder mystery, and the show will be filled with madrigal music, holiday carols, and traditional tunes.
The show is written and performed by the Newtown High School Singers, an after-school, a cappella vocal group open to students by audition in grades 9-12. The Singers perform at festivals and represent the Newtown High School Choral program around the area and the state.
The Madrigal Feaste will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, from 7 to 10 pm, at the Stony Hill Inn, on Route 6 just over the Newtown line. Tickets are $38 for adults, $17 ages 10 and under, and include dinner, the musical entertainment, and a silent auction.
Proceeds of the Feaste help to fund the Choral Parents Scholarship.
