Occupation: I am the owner/operator of the Sandy Hook Barber Shop. We specialize in guys’ haircutting — I started out my career barbering — but we do hair for the whole family.

Family: I am single, but I’m blessed to have my parents, sister and brother-in-law, and two nephews, in Danbury. My brother and his wife have three boys and a girl, but they are in Chicago. We’re from Quebec, so I feel lucky to have some of my family this close by. Most of our relatives are still in the Quebec area.

Pets: No pets. I’m not home enough to take care of them.

How long have you been in Newtown? I’ve had my shop in this location for five and a half years. We were at another location in Sandy Hook, just down the road here, for three years before that.

What do you like to do in your free time? The free time that I do have, I like to spend with family and friends. We do dinners and get together, and that keeps me busy. I’m also a huge Yankee fan, so I go to a handful of games every season when I can get good seats. I’m kind of a seat snob.

Do you have a favorite movie? It would be a toss up. I love Godfather I and II, and Scarface. Al Pacino is a great actor. I liked Good Fellas, too, so I guess there is sort of a mob theme going here.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? Quebec is definitely my favorite. I’m from right outside of Quebec City, and I like both the country life and the city life. I try to get back there at least once a year.

What is the best thing about Newtown? Newtown is real special. It’s a great place to raise kids, it seems, and is so centered around family and community. Everybody comes together to make something special happen for all of the organizations.

Do you have a hero? I totally admire Derek Jeter. I think he’s the ultimate in professionalism, not just as an athlete. From the get-go, as a young athlete, he founded the Turn2 Foundation. He’s a good role model for people.

Do you have a personal philosophy? The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Reese’s Pieces. They are my favorite. It’s my go-to treat. And my Live With Regis and Kelly on Mondays, the only day I can catch it.
